Fall is Medford's busiest season
A postcard version of Medford sells the rivers and the mountains, but the calendar sells the community. Fall is when the Rogue Valley shows off, with a steady string of free festivals, harvest markets, and family events running from early September clear through Halloween. For anyone house hunting here, the season is also a great way to feel the town's personality before you commit to a street.
From the home at 612 S Ivy St, most of it is an easy walk or a short drive. Downtown's Vogel Plaza is about a half mile away, and the rest of the season's highlights are scattered across parks, farms, and town centers you can reach in minutes.
September: markets and festivals downtown
The Medford Third Friday Fall Market returns to Vogel Plaza on Friday, September 18, part of the monthly downtown gathering that brings local makers, food, and live music to the heart of the city. A week later, the village center and local venues host Medford Oktoberfest over the weekend of September 18-20, with food, music, and communal tables that feel made for meeting neighbors.

Late September: a weekend for everyone
Saturday, September 26 is one of those rare weekends when you have to choose. The Greater Medford Multicultural Fair runs from 10 AM to 4 PM at Pear Blossom Park on North Bartlett Street, a free and family-friendly day of food, music, dance, and cultures from across the community. On the same day, Ride the Rogue draws cyclists out along the Rogue River Valley for a scenic community ride.
That combination, a free cultural festival in the park and an active outdoor event on the same weekend, is exactly the kind of thing that makes Medford feel like a town where you can build a full life rather than just park a car.
October: Halloween with a local twist
October builds toward a month of family fun. The Medford Children's Day of the Dead Ofrenda runs from October 1 through November 1 at the Medford Library, an educational and beautiful community exhibit worth a visit with kids. Later in the month, Hanley Farm hosts the Hanley Halloween Prowl, a lantern-lit evening walk on Saturday, October 24, and the Medford Railroad Park celebrates with its Halloween event on Sunday, October 25 from 11 AM to 4 PM.
The month closes with SPOOKACTULAR on Saturday, October 31 at The Village Medford Center, a Halloween afternoon at the village center designed for little ones.
